Enemies At Rest

Passage Minutes

Description

During the Battle of Plattsburg the Americans under Alexander Macomb were badly outnumbered but had the support of a US fleet under Thomas Macdonough. American victory just prior to the signing of the Treaty of Ghent secured Lake Champlain territory claims, but nearly 300 men had died and just as many were wounded. The American's were left to bury the dead at Riverside Cemetery, where many men were buried side by side with British troops.
