The research library at Adirondack History Center Museum is named for the Honorable Osceola Byron Brewster. Dedicated in 1959 by James Rosenburg, Essex County Historical Society board member and artist. Judge Brewster was a well known and respected Essex County citizen - and according to legend; a fantastic story teller.
Throughout the years, numerous volunteer librarians dedicated their time and effort to making the Brewster Library a vital resource for the citizens of Essex County. Today, our Library is open to anyone looking for information regarding history where the people and/or places of Essex County are concerned. The Brewster Library & Archives fosters research through access to it's special collection.
